You've got some really cute fabrics! I like the rooster one for some reason, despite not actually liking roosters. And I like the tea wallets, but I don't drink it enough to make it worth having one! Thanks for participating!

Winner of the handmade item:

**Giveaway now closed. Look for a winner soon!**

We are so excited to be participating in Giveaway Day again this spring. We love getting lots of comments and hearing from new people. We also will definitely be entering lots of amazing giveaways, too!

We are doing 2 separate giveaways this time. The first is for your choice of one item from the fabric section in our shop. The second is for your choice of one handmade item from any of the other sections in our shop.

All you need to do is leave a comment stating whether you'd like to win fabric or a handmade item and what you'd choose if you win. Super simple!

The giveaway will stay open until Wednesday, May 25 at 10:00 EST. We'll draw the winners by Friday, May 27 and post them here on the blog as well as notify the winners by email (if their email addresses are provided in the comments or in their blogger profiles.)

Thanks for stopping by and good luck!!

P.S. - Thought it was fun that this is the 300th post on the blog, too! :)

School and Coming Soon

I haven't been posting too much about what I've been doing with my daughter here at home for our weekly school time, but I took a few pictures that I wanted to share. We did a pond theme this week. I am still amazed by all of the wonderful free ideas out there on blogs. I wish I had known about them when I was teaching. Anyway, a couple free printable units:
Two Teaching Mommies Printable UnitHomeschool Creations PondWe read some fun books and enjoyed playing with some mini frogs and turtles - idea found here at PreKinders.

We also worked on a prototype today for a new item for the shop coming soon - car trash bags. The pattern is courtesy of Sewing Sweets on Etsy. These bags are lined in PUL and are washable. This is going to be our mini size - we hope to have a larger one available, too. This one is for me - for all of the little pieces of paper, tissues, and receipts that end up all over the car. If you'd like one, send me an email or a convo through the shop.

Last but not…

Finally Finished!

Wow! It's been awhile since I've posted here, but we've been busy - with Easter, working on our garden, plus quite a bit of sewing. We finished up our fabric fast on Easter. I got some DS Quilts fabric as Easter gifts. I am hoping to make some spring skirts and a table runner with the fabric. We also found some gorgeous Farmdale fabric at a nearby Joann Fabric, so we have some plans for some creations from this fabric to appear in the shop soon.

My biggest finish so far this year is this quilt here. It was supposed to be a Christmas present for my husband...then for Valentines...then our anniversary. Well, it got finished by around the first of May - better late than never, I suppose.

The quilt is super simple. I have only made a few quilts and don't know a great deal about quilting, but I'm learning. This is the largest quilt I've made. You can definitely see some crooked stitching in one of these pictures, but I'm glad it got finished. I used some Michael …
