What I Wore: Basics and Color

It's time for another week of What I Wore Wednesday! I have a couple outfits to share today and some additional inspiration, too!

Last week, I came across a fun series at Merrick's Art called Sisters Share It All: Wardrobe Staples. Each of the 3 sisters tell their 10 wardrobe staple pieces and then in a separate post, they each create 10 outfits with the 10 pieces. It's a really fun series - check it out!

This outfit was inspired by a combination of a couple of the outfits shared on Merrick's blog. I went with a grey cardigan belted over a black dress, added some color in my jewelry and tights, and of course riding boots! This outfit was really comfy and I liked the pops of color.

Cardigan: Kohl's, Dress: Target, Tights: ?, Boots: Target, Belt: Target, Necklace and Earrings: Avon, Sunglasses: Firmoo, Lipstick Color: Avon Ultra Color Rich Cozy Mauve

I didn't get a full outfit picture for this one, but I wore skinny jeans and boots with this. I really like the color of the scarf!

Cardigan: Kohl's, Earrings: Elder-Beerman, Shirt: Target, Scarf: Avon, Jeans: Mossimo via Goodwill, Boots: Target (pictured above)

Since today is Ash Wednesday, it is day one of my no clothes/accessories shopping fast for Lent. I'll check in and let you all know how I'm doing. Have you ever stopped clothes shopping for any amount of time? I'd love to hear about it - leave me a comment!

Very cute outfits!
I thought of you last night when I was at Target in the clearance aisle- I got myself a shirt (at this point it will have to wait until after August - only $3) and a dress for a little over $5 that will be sooooooo nice for this summer after I hem it and take in the shoulders.
Good luck with your shopping fast. I think it will be good to challenge your creativity and see what you can mix and match with what you already own.
You'll have to check out our blog; we're into the F's, also: fashion, food, frugality, furnishings, finds and fun. You look so cute in your outfit. Love it!
