With a small home, I think utilizing outdoor spaces and thinking of them as an extension of the home is really important. We have a small porch and added on a patio within the last couple of years. I would say at least 6 months out of the year we use these spaces quite a bit. In the future, we'd love to save up enough to enclose the front porch to make it usable even longer.
