I just finished up planning and presenting a green themed program for kids over the weekend at the library and am planning a few St. Patrick's Day activities to use with my daughter this week, so I thought it would be fun to share a few of my finds!
For the program, we decorated some foam door hangers (above) and then we created these faux tie dye coffee filter shamrocks from this idea found at Mom to 2 Posh Lil Divas. We used dot markers and they were super easy, cute, and inexpensive. We also planted seeds in sponges (idea found here), but will have to wait to see if this experiment works. Our sponge is sitting on the windowsill right now.
I went to the Dollar Tree and got foam shamrocks and craft sticks to try this learning activity from No Time For Flash Cards. I think we will modify it and I will have my daughter sort and read words by short vowels.
I also love this St. Patty's Day Hooray site word game freebie and we have plans to try this Lucky Charms sorting activity, too.
Do you have any fun activities planned for St. Patrick's Day?
