Book Review: Prize of My Heart

I can't believe it's already May! I am planning some fun posts for the blog for May, including a giveaway! First, I want to review the last book I finished reading in April.

Prize of My Heart by Lisa Norato is a historical fiction novel set in Massachusetts in 1815. Captain Brogan Talvis is on a quest to find his son who was taken from him three years ago. His search leads him to a shipbuilder in New England where he finds his son. He also meets the shipbuilder's daughter, Lorena, who acts as the young boy's guardian.

This is a new author for me. I enjoyed the historical setting of this novel. It was full of lots of suspense and adventure as well. In addition to the romance that unfolds during the story, there are themes of forgiveness and redemption woven throughout the text. The characters struggle with a variety of decisions they must make and we see the consequences, both good and bad, of the choices they and others make.

I would definitely recommend this book if you like books with a historical setting and lots of adventure!

I received a copy of this book from Bethany House in exchange for this review. All opinions are my own.
