Book Review: Finding Our Way Home

The book Finding Our Way Home by Charlene Ann Baumbich was a lovely surprise! I've never read any books by the author before, but enjoyed this title very much. Get a sneak peek at the first chapter here.
Thirty-eight year old Sasha Davis was a principal ballerina in Boston until an injury ends her dancing career prematurely. She leaves her home in the city to recover in the small town in Minnesota where she grew up. Dealing with her injuries as well as the recent death of her mother prompts Sasha to hire an aide to assist her as she heals. Evelyn Burt is a 19 year-old optimist who enthusiastically faces each day and challenges Sasha to do the same.
This book was wonderfully charming and engaging. The main characters of Sasha and Evelyn were very human and real. I found the small-town setting to be a great backdrop for the story as well. Sasha and Evelyn's initial relationship and eventual friendship proves that we can all be friends with people that are very different than we are. The storyline pursued the theme of God's grace throughout, that despite our circumstances, God's grace is still availably and freely given.
I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review. All opinions are my own.
