Projects

I have been trying to finish up lots of projects that I had ideas for, bought the supplies, and never quite started (or finished). I'm hoping to get lots done this month so I can start work on Christmas presents I want to make!

You'll have to excuse the fact that all of the pictures were taken in poor light - at night, no less.

We've been doing some porch "fluffing" inspired by this post at Homespun Heart. We added curtains made from drop cloths ($10 each at Lowe's), got new pillows ($5 each at Home Depot), put in a new light (on clearance for around $8!!), and I made a fabric bunting to hang. Love how cozy it feels now. We've been spending more time hanging out on the porch now and really enjoying the space - which is great when you live in a small home (around 1100 sq. feet). I would love the enclose the porch some day, but this is my budget re-do - probably cost around $100 for every thing. I'd still like to get a rug to finish it off.

Fabric covered cork board - I've seen these around for quite a while, and had a cork board and lots of fabric, but never took the time to make one. I have necklaces and earrings hanging on it, more as a display piece, as the jewelry isn't something I typically wear, but has sentimental value.

I also finished some pieces of art to hang at the church and one for home. I painted the canvases ($1.50 each) with some free paint samples I received through a promo offer a few months ago. Then I used my mom's Cricut to cut various pictures and sentiments from scrapbook paper (on clearance at Pat Catan's) and Modge Podged them to the canvases. The "hope" one is for the porch. I also used a couple of free pieces of art (or they were free at the time) from Creek Bed Threads and Feed Your Soul: the free art project. Lots of goodies to be found! I am loving this one from Sprik Space, too! I will probably use one for the bathroom and the laundry - especially since they come in so many colors!

So, a few projects complete! Now to work on quilting! I have a Nicey Jane lap quilt for me that is basted and ready to quilt. I also have a blanket for my daughter cut and ready to put together. Once those are done, I will be ready to start some Christmas presents - and some new goodies for the shop!

What are you making right now?

Planning to link up to Frugal Fridays at the Shabby Nest!

Great job!
I am thinking about doing a makeover on our sunporch. Well, a make because I have never decorated it or hung any curtains or anything so there is nothing to do over. Just the blinds that came with the house. We'll see...
