May Craft Challenge: Ribbon

craft challenge

I have really been enjoying reading Blue Eyed Blessings. There are so many fun, creative ideas there! I read about May's Craft Challenge involving ribbon, and I have been looking forward to participating!

I posted about these baby food jar pincushions a little while ago, but these use a small piece of ribbon glued around the lid.

I also made 3 of these ribbon headbands using a tutorial here from Chocolate on My Cranium. These are so simple and turn out really well. I wore one yesterday right after I made them. (That's why only 2 are in the picture!)

Our Wal-Mart (unfortunately) is getting rid of their fabric and craft department, so yesterday, my mom and I explored their remaining craft clearance. I got all of these spools of ribbon for $0.25 each!! More ribbon crafts are definitely on the horizon.

Visit Blue Eyed Blessings for more crafts using ribbon and add your ideas, too!

Hi-visiting from the Monthly Craft Challenge. What great ideas for ribbon!! Those pin cushions are great-I have a lot of baby food jars to use too. Thanks for the link to the headband tutorial. My girls love headbands. Great deal on the ribbon! My Walmart dropped their craft dept last year and I miss it :(

Oh, what fun ideas. I like your idea for making headbands and using hair elastics at the base. I've seen them before with the big white elastic band sewn on, but I like your idea much better. Cute!

I'm so glad that you are joining in today for the challenge!! I love to "see" new faces! ;) The baby food jar pin cushions are too much fun and of course a good ribbon completes them perfectly. The headbands are also great! I wouldn't mind trying this out to see if I could pull off the headband look...not sure if I could! ;)

And, what a huge score on that ribbon! $.25 each is such an awesome deal. If you do anything with the ribbon sometime this week, come on back to link up and share.

Thanks for joining the party! Happy Thursday!
love the ribbon headbands. thanks for the link

I love those headbands!! I always wanted to try to wear something like that....but didn't want to spend a lot on something I wasn't sure I would like!! This is a great {inexpensive} way to try them out! Thanks for the idea!
